Lumsden Heritage Trust


In 2012 a couple of Lumsden locals were having a conversation,  John Titter mentioned that Lumsden needed a Steam Train.
This conversation started a journey that led to the transformation of the Lumsden Railway Station
from an empty gravel carpark to a world class Heritage Railway Precinct.

V126 and V127 were dumped in the river at the Mararoa Junction in 1928. The trust successfully recoverd both locomotives and they are proudly on display in Lumsden

A525 - something to say

The trust have restored this 1896 Carriage which previously served for the Ohai Railway board. The trust leased the carriage in 2016 before restoring the exterior.
